Effect of praise on signals

PraiseRun_1group.gif
Typical co-evolution of the praising probability (in %, orange curve) and the signal sent by top-signalers (green curve). Individuals who are not super-signalers are clustered in two groups: the light-blue curve shows the signalers’ average signal and the dark-blue curve shows the non-signalers’ average signal (non-zero, as they still explore possibilities).                Orange dots are praising individuals - Green dots are praised individuals. The blue curve indicates the cost coefficient (\(c_0\), y-axis) as a function of competence (on the x-axis, between 0 and 100). The red curve shows the multiplicative factor \(C(S,1)\) (attention: values along the x-axis) when signal intensity \(S\) (y-axis) varies between 0 and the maximum 100.
